Adventure in Austin
Coming from a big city like Chicago, I thought that Austin was going to take some time to get used to, but from the moment I got off the plane, I fell in love with its weather and its people. I mention the weather because Chicago is well known for its extreme cold temperatures, so coming to a city where I can actually see the sun and enjoy the view of the trees and nature was complete happiness.
While being here, I have had the chance to explore this nature with other game changers. We went kayaking at Barton Springs a few weeks ago. Some of them have had gone kayaking before, but it was my first time. At first I was a bit scared. Prior to getting on the kayak, my biggest worry was that I would fall off my kayak and possibly drown. I’m not the greatest swimmer, only good enough to not drown, so at the end I figured I would be okay. But just to be safe, I asked two of the game makers if they wanted to share a boat with me.
We ended up kayaking for a little bit over an hour and the experience was more than I expected. I see now why people fall in love with the sport! Not only is it a great workout, but I got to enjoy the beautiful view of the skyline and nonetheless take in the view of nature itself.
